I Just got home from skating for around 12 hours

my hands hurt, my knees hurt, my heels hurt, my tailbone hurts

and I love it

Where to Begin

I guess I’ll start with Anna. It was through Anna i first learned about tumblr. But to me it was something i would never be apart of. I’m not a big fan of social networking but we will get to that in a minute. As I’m sure anyone who is reading this tumblr knows Anna recently moved. 

The day afterwards Joy offhandedly mention something about a blog post Cole made in response of Anna’s unfortunate move. this peaked my curiosity so when i went home i decided to try to check it out. i typed in tumblr.com and was immediately defeated, i had no idea how to navigate the website. later in the day, kinda out of the blue, Cole randomly texted me the URL address for his tumblr so i could read his blog and accesses others from his.

What i found on Cole’s blog was astounding. his blog post about Anna leaving is the most amazing thing i have ever read on the Internet. i moved on to a few other blogs, most notably Anna, Preston, and Joy

here i found more of the same (but in a good way). here were blog post about their true feelings and problems. i was shocked at how truthful they were. these were real people, real friends posting about their feelings and dilemmas

and this brings us back to social networking. i have always been against social networking because i viewed it as fake. i felt that by interacting over the internet i would lose the human connections i always strive to make with friends. overall i just saw it as unneccessary and fake.

and here i am on tumblr. at first i wrote it off as being as fake as facebook and twitter, untill my first real experience with tumblr (mentioned above). so i decided why not

and that brings us to the title of my “blog”. for some reason i think i should explain the more of why i choose this name but if this doesn’t interest you feel free to skip to the next paragraph. but back to the name, it all started maybe 3 years ago. back then i would always write on my skateboard, just phrases or song lyrics, and one time i decided to write Why Not? this was an effort to push myself more by putting the idea in my head of why not? why not try this trick? and the amazing part is it worked. i distinctively remember skating in the woodlands and contemplating a trick and i looked down at my board and decided to why not? And it is with that same attitude i attack tumblr. why not have a tumblr? why not try to keep in touch with my friends? why not give it a try?

well for the most part this concludeds my opening post. unfortunatley im still unsure if tumblr is the place for me. there is a very good chance i may never post anything again.
